It's the data that programs are sending to each other once all the underlying networking protocols are removed. Seems I was able to select the service in the drop down and then "Add/Edit Service" but now every time I do that I get the dialog to edit my MozyHome service no matter which one I select and am unable to edit/view any of the other services no matter what I try. I seem to remember a protocol called I7 but now I can't even look st these other services. Specifically, I still don't understand why all these services only have 0~0 for port ranges and now I can't even "edit" or view those services to see what protocols they define. Most of the services match based on layer 7 data because anything can be bound to any port.

No I haven't but I put it on my list to take a look at. Posted: Mon 5:31 Post subject: Re: Suggestions to setup QoS for MozyHome and Netflix? I would be curious to know if it is up to date with any possible syntax changes in the newer firmware platforms you are using.

Have you messed with Robsonn's QOS script generator ? There is a link to it in the DD-WRT QOS WIKI. Posted: Mon 4:37 Post subject: Re: Suggestions to setup QoS for MozyHome and Netflix? Why do so many "Service Name" entries have 0~0 for the port range as I don't see where that would differentiate services to prioritize? And why have the entries at all if the port numbers matter but are always zero? Does QoS define just "outbound" services or is there no differentiation made between inbound and outbound?Ģ. I still have to figure out what to set for Netflix since it uses Silverlight streaming inbound.ġ. So I added a "Service Name" of MozyHome with a protocol of TCP and a port range of 443~443 and priority of Bulk so as to give it low priority. MozyHome apparently uses TCP and "SSL port 443" outbound to their servers. Looking for bricks and spare routers to expand my collection. I don't want to set QoS by MAC or IP address or time as none of those are appropriate. What approach would be best to prioritize? Application based? I don't know much about their protocol characteristics at this point. I have AT&T 6M down (get 5.78 ) and 512K up (get only 340 ) and when MozyHome ran nothing much else did and most things just timed out including web requests and Netflix movies on different computers than the one running the Mozy backups. And I don't want anything to interrupt our movies. I had severe problems on a Netgear DGN3500 with MozyHome backing up my wife's computer to the internet and want to avoid this on my new DD-WRT based ASUS RT-N16 router.

"For now, we're focused on the iOS and Android platforms because they seem to be most popular with the app development community," Robinson said. Mozy employees are currently testing the file synchronization service.

The beta program will probably last a couple of months, Robinson said. The sync service will run on a home computer, allowing access from either iOS or Android mobile platforms. Users won't run the sync application on their mobile devices - they'll run the Mozy mobile app from them. Mozy is also going to solicit interested customers for a beta program for a new synchronization service that will let them store files on one computer, and allow them to be distributed to multiple mobile devices.įor example, family members could use an Apple iPhone or Android-based device to access the latest versions of files stored on an iMac desktop computer at home. "Or, you're at dinner with friends and you could share your vacation photos you backed up with Mozy and display them on your Android or iPhone."
